Subjects
Dave has spoken on a range of subjects over the years, but these are his main lines of thought at the moment:
“Sustaining Revenues”
Nearly every business has experienced a significant decrease in revenues in the past two years. Increasing or improving revenues is the primary focus of most recovery efforts. Getting revenues back on track are not related to simply training the sales team or redesigning or rebranding web pages or logos. Effective and sustainable growth in this economy requires discovering the next innovation that will enable the business to grow again. This presentation provides the answers to those challenges from several perspectives: First, educate the participants on the four components of revenue growth; Second, introduce them to the eight influences and that defines their future success; Finally, how their people are the instrumental component to discovering that innovation. We provide attendees a formula that they can bring back to their organizations and begin the process of discovery that will transform their business results. “Leadership Interrupted”
In times of economic turbulence, leaders often react out of fear, make decisions in ignorance, and seize control of their organizations. Nothing interrupts the recovery machine more than those three behaviors. In this discussion, we introduce inspiration, invention, and empowerment as leadership models. We use the examples of leaders who have guided businesses, countries, teams, and troops in trying times to great success. Dave uses this talk as a tremendous motivator to educate and inspire business leaders to recognize and embrace the power of their organization and teaches them how to use these examples to influence the emerging leaders in their businesses. “Your Customer Community”
The buying behaviors of businesses and consumers have changed significantly. What are successful businesses doing differently in acknowledgment of and in response to these shifts? In this discussion, we discover how critical community and affiliation is to our customers and how these are the driving force behind their decision making criteria today. After identifying and explaining the three keys to building a better member-like experience, we discuss the four actions that will result in building a better community relationship with customers.
“Relationships are Selfless Commitments”
The modern business relationship has become more focused than ever on value. Social networks have rendered the simple assembly of a rolodex of contacts irrelevant. People only have time for those relationships that are of value to them. And value is derived from how effectively these connections provide access to resources and solutions. This conversation helps participants recognize the difference between “old school” relationships and “trusted resource” relationships. Once we understand the differences, we educate participants on engaging in the behaviors and communications to make them relationship leaders.
“Horton Hears a Who — Why No One Believed Him”
It is said that communication is only 7% words and 93% of inflection, tone, and pace. While this is true, the words people choose and whether we hear them tell us more than we realize. Effective communication is all about listening, paying attention to, and understanding the message. It is also about listening for the information that exists in the message. In this presentation, we explore the three components of effective listening. We then focus on the Five Understandings that educate participants on incorporating what was communicated into quantifiable actions and accountabilities which are clearly defined and accepted by all participants.
